It is a highly potent anticonvulsant, amnestic and anxiolytic. Indications Clonazepam is commonly prescribed for: - Epilepsy - Anxiety disorder. Clonazepam is rarely used as a treatment for insomnia, because its sedative effects are relatively weak compared to other benzodiazepines. Interactions Similar to Diazepam. Contraindications Klonopin should not be used in patients with a history of sensitivity to benzodiazepines, nor in patients with clinical or biochemical evidence of significant liver disease. It may be used in patients with open angle glaucoma who are receiving appropriate therapy, but is contraindicated in acute narrow angle glaucoma. How to use Take Clonazepam tablets by mouth. Follow the directions on the prescription label. Swallow the tablets with a drink of water. If Clonazepam upsets your stomach, take it with food or milk. Take your doses at regular intervals. Do not take your medicine more often than directed. Do not stop taking or change the dose except on your prescriber`s advice.
